These are rich pictures
stitched in fabric, fibres and found objects, often
incorporating words and symbols. I prefer to use recycled
materials, discarded clothing, and old materials found in a
home, as they bring their own history into the creative process.
This is a versatile medium for story telling, exploring the
decorative tradition of many cultures, encouraging the revival
of traditional techniques, and yet offering such freedom for
personal interpretation.

A Garden in Your Pocket

a Swedish psalm traditionally sung the last day of school before
the summer holidays.

Your Bright Sun

crystals, with hand dyed Hessian mount set in shallow
box frame. Inspired by the Swedish winter this
celebrates the morning sun. £540.

remember

Recycled fabric, knitted and crocheted pieces, hand spun
wool hearts, gold netting and photographs, stretched in
shallow box frame. A 60’s retro piece including my
mother’s ski jumper from the 40’s. £ 725.

lace on hand dyed linen, with pearl beads, wooden heart,
pure silk hair and red fairy lights, stretched in hand
painted wooden frame. Honouring all the real angels out
